I grew up being told that outdoor work was a man’s job–that women were too weak and frail to work outside the house. Once I became a homeowner, I took charge and relished in the opportunity to finally mow a lawn and shovel snow. It took me 27 years of life to get the opportunity to get behind a lawn mower. Doing the manual, hard labor around the house is very empowering to me. I have three sons, and I am showing them that women are strong and capable of anything–even “man’s work”.
